The Living Nativity Sassi has become over the years the jewel in the period event flower Christmassy in the city of Matera. In recent years the extraordinary performances of the scenes narrated in the Bible and the magnificent scenery of the Sassi of Matera have charmed thousands of visitors, allowing to collect a success unprecedented both nationally and internationally; not surprisingly, the Living Nativity of Matera entered the Guinness Book of Records.

The ninth edition of the Living Nativity, "The Nativity of Forgiveness” – Matera for L'Aquila, It will take place in Matera every weekend from the end of the week’Immaculate Conception until the feast of’Epiphany.

As usual the many listed will give life to the revival of Jerusalem two thousand years ago, recreating scenes from the Bible. the sets, the play of light, stories and performances of the artists will drop visitors in a distant dimension, that together with the charm of the Sassi of Matera, will create a’mystical atmosphere and one of a kind.

The Living Nativity, the Matera – ninth edition – entitled "The Nativity of Forgiveness – Matera for L'Aquila 2009/2019” It will be realized in key stage, with the participation of actors who will perform various contexts of everyday life in Judea two thousand years ago, all set in a traveling path extending from the historic center of Matera to Ward Sasso Barisano.

The Nativity, in all its facets, It will be the main theme of the Christmas season in Matera, In fact, the cultural association that takes care of the preparation of Matera Nativity presents the second edition of Exhibition of Nativity scenes in Italy. In this edition you can admire the largest ice nativity scene in the world, one of a kind, an exhibition themed "The Neapolitan crib art” and much more.
